Samita this is fantastic! As someone who struggles developing proficiency in my first language, I've always admired individuals who can learn a second. I love the reasons why you chose to pursue this for your genius hour project, I think learning about our ancestral culture naturally brings us closer to family. Here are my two stars and a wish:
ReplyDeleteStar 1: Your organization is phenomenal. Looking at your project proposal I was fully convinced you'd achieve your goals just by the level of consideration and planning that was displayed. I know you feel as though you haven't progressed to an intermediate level, but the fact that you can develop such a regimented and thorough plan is half the battle.
Star 2: Your ability to curate resources is impressive. I love that you used multiple forms of content to guide your learning. YouTube videos, rented books, purchased books, Quizzlet... You really tried to approach this from every angle and I think that likely played an instrumental role in your success.
Star 3: I know I'm only supposed to do 2 stars, but you designed a second website to post all of your curated and developed materials!? That deserves recognition on its own. So cool and such a fantastic resource.
Wish: I wish I heard more about what you would plan to do differently if you had to do it again! You touched on this topic a little here and there, but I'd love to hear how you would adapt your 12 week schedule now knowing what you know about learning Bengali.
